8 Years Ago Tonight

8 Years ago tonight, I had my first date with my husband. :) I had no idea that he would turn out to be "the one" - but it was a great date.

I remember pulling into the parking lot - and seeing this tall man wearing a red plaid shirt, pacing in front of the door of the Uno's Restaurant. I checked myself out in my rear-view mirror, making sure I looked ok and didn't have anything sticking in my teeth. He presented me with a mug - a cute mug that a child would color a piece of paper and put around the mug to decorate it. It was intended as something I could do with one of my special needs students. How sweet!

He was soft spoken, but a gentleman. He held open the door for me and pulled my chair out. The conversation seemed to flow easily. We continued to the movies after dinner and we watched "The Sixth Sense" - during a scary part, he reached over and held my hand. I thought it was the sweetest thing in the world. After the movie, we continued to talk until 1 in the morning. The night ended with a nice hug and promises to call in the next week.

The next morning, I had an e-mail saying what a good time he had. We spoke on the phone for 3 hours that Tuesday and another that Thursday - the next weekend we cooked dinner in his not so spotless apartment. Three weeks later, he was meeting my parents - My dad commented that he was "so in love with" me. The next weekend I met his mom for her birthday - weeks turned into months, and months turned into years - after a year and a half, at his sister's wedding - I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Sometime after September 11th of that year, he realized the same - but wasn't quite that ready.

On March 3, 2002 - he proposed. On July 19, 2003 - we were married. On September 31, 2003 - we bought our house. On April 22, 2005 - we found out we were pregnant. On December 16, 2005 - we had our Little One. I can't wait to see what they future years will bring us.

I love him so much. :)

Hair Cut #6 or 7

Little One is blessed with good hair. I still remember the ultrasound I had the day before she was born - My brother was visiting me in the hospital and was there to see it. The tech was measuring the head and all of a sudden we saw all of this fuzzy stuff around the head. He asked the tech what all of it was, and the tech told us it was the baby's hair! When she was born the next day, I couldn't believe it - she actually had strands that were about 2 inches long!

So needless to say, she's had a bunch of haircuts - they've mostly gone well - the first few were my mom and I trimming her bangs and then when she was just over a year, I couldn't take the mullet anymore - so snip snip went her hair.

So today was #6 or 7, not too sure, but it was the first time she didn't sit on my lap. She perched herself on the chair and sat "up high Momma" and was a very good girl.

Children's Museum

Today we all went into the big city to the Children's Museum - Little One just loves to be on the move! :) And these pictures captures some of her "moves":

More Knitting

I've been feeling under the weather this weekend, and the only good thing about that is that I get to knit, knit, knit! :) Last night I finished knitting my bag and I just have to felt it now.

I've also been working hard on Little One's Pinwheel Sweater - last night I made it up to where I needed to break for the arms and tonight I'm working on the knit/purl edge. I'm hoping tomorrow I can finish the edge and get started on the sleeves.

Now if my school work only got done that fast... ;)

Self Portraits

Tonight Little One and I had some fun with the camera - I was trying to take pictures of her playing with her Little People Castle, but she was more interested in seeing the "old" pictures on the camera. So I decided to take some pictures - and here's what we got:

I need to learn how to angle my hand to get the two of us in the pictures! :)
I love it when she gets all giggly, happy and cuddly! :)

Here is her awesome castle set from my big sister:

The past two days, LO has been begging to play "castle" as soon as she wakes up, comes inside or comes home from daycare. Thanks Big Sister! :)

Knitting up a storm!

Every fall I get knitting crazy - I think it all has to do with going back to school - I love getting fall type/back to school clothes - especially for Little One - and she doesn't even go to school! Anyways, around this time, I feel like I'm in a rush to get projects done for her so she can wear them/use them for the winter. I'm also seeing if I can get some projects done for holiday gift giving.

So right now on my needles, I have socks for myself (I'm kind of kicking myself now for not matching up the stripes, this will give it some character/charm):

A scarf (no pic)

and this sweater for Little One - The pattern is just so beautiful. I'm knitting it out of some old Red Heart yarn from another UFO (unfinished object) that I know I'll never get to.

I just finished these purple socks for LO! :)(they look like they are a little off in size, but they really are about the same size):

I made this in the beginning of the summer for LO - it's a tank top made out of cotton with a crochet trim. I can't believe how little she looks - and it's only two months ago!
