Well, I have a confession to make - I am a pack rat. Yes, I collect junk and I store it - not so bad that I'm living in filth, but close. So lately I've been feeling that our living room has become to look like Toys R Us and it was time to make a change. See, we have this spare room - and it's suppose to be a spare bedroom, but no one really comes and stays with us...so it's been a place where we've (I've) collected stuff - things from knitting UFOs to Little One's old clothes, Old toys to old books, clothes that I wished fit me and clothes I'd never wear again...so you get the picture.
So I made it this weekend's goal to get this room into shape - I want Little One to have her own play space and I want my living room back (well, as much as I can with a little one).
So here are the pictures...

The bed and UFOs:

My childhood dresser holding junk:

And the door way (you can see we already took out two bins worth of stuff):

So then we visited Lowes where I picked out a nice purple paint color - Dusty Lilac - and new white paint for the trim. We also picked up a little cabinet to hide our computer modems (this room use to be our old office, so we had to keep them in there). Then I painted late last night while Little One was sleeping - and again early this morning before Hubby played golf. Then I did the trim tonight after she went to sleep. I also visited a discount carpet store to pick up the rug. I still have to hang the blinds and find/make decent curtains...oh, and find some shelves and a few more decorations...
So here is the nearly finished project 36 hours later:
Walking in:

Where the bed use to be (eventually it will have LO's bed in there) - I still need proper clips to hang the quilt:

Where I'd like some shelves (the green container contains 7 of my own cabbage patch kids from my childhood - now LO will have a place to play with them!):

This is the cabinet (don't mind the hallway - it needs a good sweeping - but the cleaners come tomorrow! So I didn't bother after all this work):

I'm so excited and proud of myself! Now to go through those bins...
